Condition is Severely Debilitating

In addition to providing evidence of your anxiety disorder, the SSA will also require that your anxiety disorder be severely debilitating for you to be eligible for disability benefits. This means that your condition must severely impair your ability to do things like work, participate in daily activities, concentrate, and maintain a social functioning and/or other requirements. These symptoms must also be chronic in order to be eligible for disability benefits for anxiety disorder. They must have been present for at least 12 months, or be expected to persist for at least 12 months. The SSA will review your medical history, determine your ability to work and function in other ways, and consider the opinions of your doctors, friends, and family. Disability Experts of Florida can discuss these requirements with you in detail and discuss the SSA review process with you so you’ll know what to expect from the SSA review.
