Disability Benefits

If you or a loved one suffers from diabetes and want to know if you are eligible for disability benefits, call the Disability Experts of Florida. We can help you determine whether or not you qualify for disability benefits for diabetes and we can help you make the next steps in your disability claim.

You’re out of Work

It is possible to receive disability benefits for diabetes, but only under certain circumstances. For example, if your diabetes is uncontrolled and this has prevented you from working for at least 12 months, you may be eligible to receive disability benefits for diabetes. You may also be eligible to receive disability benefits for diabetes if you expect that you will be unable to work for at least 12 months.

Condition is Severely Limiting

In addition to being out of work, or expecting to be out of work, in order to qualify for disability benefits for diabetes your condition and its damaging effects must  severely limit what you can do, or cause certain complications, as required by the SSA (Social Security Administration). The SSA will review your medical history, determine your ability to work, and consider the opinions of your doctors, friends, and family. The Disability Experts of Florida can help prepare you for this SSA review by discussing these factors with you and letting you know what to expect when your case is being reviewed.

Ineligible Circumstances

Under certain circumstances, you may not be eligible for disability benefits for diabetes. For example, if the reason your diabetes is uncontrolled is because you are not following your doctor’s prescribed treatment, you may not qualify for disability benefits for diabetes. Other factors may cause you to be ineligible as well. That’s why it’s important to discuss your claim with us so we can help you determine your eligibility for disability benefits for diabetes.
